Baseball Recap: Springfield Senators vs. Springfield Southeast Spartans
Springfield won against New Berlin last Tuesday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Springfield Senators walked away with a 9-4 win over the Springfield Southeast Spartans. The Senators have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Spartans, too.

Tyler Elliott made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Karter Marks looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk).
Back at the plate, Wade Snyder was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Liam Watts was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
Springfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springfield Southeast only posted an OBP of .333.
The victory made it two in a row for Springfield and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will square off against Litchfield at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Springfield Southeast, they will challenge St. Teresa at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
