Baseball Recap: Union Academy Takes a Loss

Union Academy lost against Buford back in March of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Cardinals fell 8-3 to the Yellow Jackets. The Cardinals' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Ethan Edwards was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Colton Brucke was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Union Academy's record now sits at 6-12. As for Buford, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Union Academy will host South Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals will need to watch out since the Rowdy Rebel Bulls have now posted at least ten runs in their last three matches. As for Buford, they will be playing at home against Legion Collegiate Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Yellow Jackets surely won't give up without a fight.
