Softball Game Preview: East Pennsboro Panthers vs. Selinsgrove Seals

The East Pennsboro Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Selinsgrove Seals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but East Pennsboro sidestepped Lower Dauphin for a 10-9 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Sofia Morrill, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Selinsgrove got the win against Juniata on Wednesday by a conclusive 19-9.

Maddison Burd made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Molly Hess was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Danika Burd was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

The win got Selinsgrove back to even at 1-1. As for East Pennsboro, their record now sits at 2-0.
