The Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 55-51 win over Eagle Academy II on Saturday.

Math Civics & Sciences' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sair Alsbrooks, who scored 12 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Maki Hill, who scored 11 points along with 3 steals.

Math Civics & Sciences' win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Eagle Academy II, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Math Civics & Sciences will challenge Chester at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eagle Academy II, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Francis Prep at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.
