Preview: Linn Wildcats vs. Blair Oaks Falcons
Linn is 2-8 against Blair Oaks since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Linn Wildcats' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Blair Oaks Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on January 22nd. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Linn suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 53-27 loss at the hands of Centralia. While losing is never fun, Linn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while Centralia is ranked 40th).
Linn's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Kiana Hostetler, who scored 11 points, and Vivien Baker who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Blair Oaks, who are still winless after their 13th matchup. They took a serious blow against Skyline on Tuesday, falling 81-31.
Linn has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Blair Oaks, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-13.
Things could have been worse for Linn, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-28 loss to Blair Oaks when the teams last played back in January of 2023. Can Linn avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
