Recap: Shadow Ridge Stallions vs. Boulder Creek Jaguars
The Shadow Ridge Stallions had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past Boulder Creek 53-20 on the road. Given Shadow Ridge's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Boulder Creek is ranked 126th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Shadow Ridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shaelyn Anthony, who scored 14 points along with 7 steals and 5 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Danica Lindemann, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
Shadow Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Boulder Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadow Ridge will square off against Mountain Ridge at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Boulder Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Centennial at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Centennial focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Monday.
