Soccer Game Preview: Kingwood Park vs. Porter

The Kingwood Park Panthers will face off against the Porter Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

On Tuesday, Kingwood Park didn't have quite enough to beat Dayton and fell 4-3. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Broncos are ranked 429th).

Meanwhile, Porter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Wildcats. That's two games straight that the Spartans have won by exactly two goals.

Porter's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Kingwood Park, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-3.

Kingwood Park took their victory against Porter in their previous matchup back in February by a conclusive 3-0. Will Kingwood Park repeat their success, or does Porter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
