The biggest upset of the week belonged to Shafter, who took down 486th ranked Shafter, 31-28.

Wasco extended the longest winning streak in South Sequoia this week by beating Arvin, 56-28. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Tigers.

Bakersfield Christian's dynamic duo of Jake Thompson and Hayden Kuchta proved tough for Taft to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Thompson threw for 160 yards and two touchdowns and Kuchta had 109 yards receiving. Josh Jackson helped Bakersfield Christian's passing attack out by catching five balls for 52 yards.

Isaiah Sharp was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 34 carries, he ran for 423 yards as Wasco topped the Wildcats. Terrance Grinner also contributed to the rushing game with 116 yards on the ground.

Taft's Vaughn Richardson and Steven Gee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Richardson has thrown for 1454 yards this season, while Gee, a 6-foot-4 receiver, has 46 catches for 958 yards. Sharp from Russ Prado's team leads the league in rushing with 1807 yards.

Jarudd Prosser's team's Gee is only 42 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Kennedy.

A big matchup in South Sequoia this week will be when the Tigers take on the Generals. As it stands, Wasco is in first, while Shafter is in third.

Chavez moved up to 656 from 689 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Titans climbed the ranks as a result of besting Ricky Ishida's team 31-28.
