Football Recap: Hopewell Titans vs. Hough Huskies

Hopewell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 51-7 loss at the hands of the Hough Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Huskies are ranked third).

When it comes to explaining why Hopewell lost, don't look at Marvin Reed Jr. Despite the final result, he rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown. The dominant performance gave Reed Jr a new career-high in rushing yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hough to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ralph (Trey) Blakeney, who threw for 127 yards and three touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Sean Brady, who gained 57 total yards and two touchdowns.

Hopewell's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hough, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
