Softball Preview: Crater Comets vs. Eagle Point Eagles
Crater is 8-2 against Eagle Point since May of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Crater Comets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Eagle Point Eagles at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Crater's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Churchill.
Payton Schwab was incredible, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Aldrich, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Eagle Point entered their tilt with Ashland with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Everything went their way against the Grizzlies on Friday as they made off with a 19-5 victory. Eagle Point's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Madi Dean made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Dean was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-6 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jocelyn Ha, who scored five runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-5. Baylee Mullen was another key contributor, going 3-for-5 with a triple, a stolen base, and two RBI.
