Basketball Recap: Fort Kent Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Fort Kent and Mattanawcook squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Fort Kent had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Mattanawcook Lynx 83-51. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lynx apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2020.

Mattanawcook's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Andrew Oliver, who went 8-for-13 en route to 20 points and five assists. Kooper McCarthy was another key player, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 11 assists.

Fort Kent's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Mattanawcook, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

Fort Kent does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mattanawcook, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 81-71 win against Madawaska on the 22nd.
