            Baseball Recap: Chaminade Red Devils vs. Christian Brothers Cadets        
        
		
        
        
            Chaminade had lost five straight at home, but  on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-17 to make it six. They fell just short of the Christian Brothers Cadets by a score of  3-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 4, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Chaminade got a good showing from  Charlie Hobbs, who   tossed one inning while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Hobbs has been consistent for a while: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks any time he's  pitched this season.
 On the hitting side, Chaminade saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Jackson Miller, who  went 1-for-2 with one  RBI.
As for Christian Brothers, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-8. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games.
On Christian Brothers' side, they got a great performance from  Ryker Williams as he  pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits.
 At the plate,  Corde Gage was  excellent,  going 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  double. Those  three  stolen bases gave  him a new career-high.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chaminade will square off against Kirkwood at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Pioneers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9  runs per game  this season, so the Red Devils' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Christian Brothers, they will take on Westminster Christian at 12:00  p.m.  on Saturday.
