Moscow took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They put the hurt on the Orofino Maniacs with a sharp 16-3 win. The victory was nothing new for the Bears as they're now sitting on 14 straight dating back to last season.

Butch Kiblen looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Andrew Hurley and Dan Fitt did most of the damage at the plate: Hurley went 2-for-4 with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Fitt went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most hits Hurley has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sam Rigney, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Moscow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orofino only posted an OBP of .222.

Orofino moved to 3-1 with that defeat, which also ended their 12-game winning streak.

Coming up, Moscow will take on Emmett at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Orofino, they will be taking part in a tournament against Colton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orofino is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 12.5 runs per game this season.
