Softball Recap: Lamar Consolidated Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Lamar Consolidated had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Victoria West Warriors with a sharp 9-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Aubree Jones, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Lundstrom, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Lamar Consolidated lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Victoria West didn't launched any home runs.

Lamar Consolidated pushed their record up to 18-3 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.4 runs over those games. As for Victoria West, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-13.

Lamar Consolidated has already played their next match, an 11-0 victory against George Ranch on the 22nd. As for Victoria West, they will take on Milby at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will need to watch out since the Buffs have now posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
