Baseball Game Preview: Rushville-Industry Rockets vs. West Prairie Cyclones

The Rushville-Industry Rockets will head out to challenge the West Prairie Cyclones at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Rushville-Industry needed a bit of extra time to put away Pittsfield. They won by a run and slipped past the Saukees 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rockets.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Prairie). They put the hurt on Bushnell-Prairie City with a sharp 14-2 victory on Monday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Cyclones with their most commanding win of the season.

West Prairie's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-11. As for Rushville-Industry, their record is now 7-8.

Everything went Rushville-Industry's way against West Prairie when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Rushville-Industry made off with a 13-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rockets since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
