Basketball Recap: Indian Springs Thunderbirds vs. Mountain View Christian Saints
In what's become a running theme this season, the Indian Springs Thunderbirds gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 45-4 victory over Mountain View Christian. Indian Springs is really starting to get used to good results now that the team's won 12 straight.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Indian Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Oriyah Clay, who scored 17 points along with four steals. Clay is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Celina Pena, who scored eight points along with ten steals.
Indian Springs pushed their record up to 15-2 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Mountain View Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Indian Springs is on the road again on Friday and plays the Knights at 4:00 p.m. on February 2nd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Round Mountain is ranked 50th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 44th). As for Mountain View Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pahranagat Valley's defense has only allowed 24.8 points per game this season, so the Saints' offense will have their work cut out for them.
