Football Recap: North Central Jets vs. St.Ignace Saints
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pickford, North Central was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the St.Ignace Saints 58-6 at home. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Jets considering their 12-point performance the contest before.
Lane Gorzinski was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 35 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His longest rush was for an incredible 94 yards. Kaden Malone was another key rusher, gaining 155 total yards and a touchdown.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, North Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 366 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2023.
North Central's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Kayden Dodson was the leader with two sacks.
The win got North Central back to even at 1-1. As for St.Ignace, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
North Central will head out to square off against Stephenson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St.Ignace, they will host Cedarville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
