Basketball Recap: Lee County Takes a Loss

Lee County suffered their biggest loss since November 21st on Saturday. They lost 74-53 to the Middle Creek Mustangs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Yellow Jackets of the 68-42 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2019.

This is the second loss in a row for Lee County and nudges their season record down to 6-4. As for Middle Creek, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-6.

Lee County will be playing at home against Apex Friendship at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Apex Friendship knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Lee County likes a good challenge. As for Middle Creek, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Cary at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
