Baseball Recap: Atmore Christian Comes Up Short

Atmore Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Lighthouse Private Christian Academy Stingrays, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Stingrays this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-3 last Monday.

Atmore Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyson Kennell, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Chase Purvis also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Atmore Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Atmore Christian will take on Pensacola Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, they will challenge Pine Forest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
