Volleyball Recap: Nimitz Cougars vs. Dekaney Wildcats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Spring, Nimitz was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Dekaney Wildcats 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
One reason for the win was Nimitz's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-18, 25-12.
Jada Jones paced Nimitz's offense, picking up eight kills. Jones got some help from
Scarlet Gutierrez and her 22 assists. Finally,
Jayla Cooper kept Nimitz's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.
Nimitz has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-22 record this season. As for Dekaney, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the loss, which was their 11th straight at home.
