Volleyball Recap: Mira Mesa Triumphs + How To Watch

After losing to Hilltop the last time they met, Mira Mesa decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Marauders came out on top against the Lancers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Marauders.

Mira Mesa had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-19, 25-22, 25-23.

Mira Mesa can attribute much of their success to Bailey McBride, who had 13 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave McBride a new career-high.

McBride wasn't the only good servers: Mira Mesa was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 17 consecutive matches.

The victory got Mira Mesa back to even at 11-11. As for Hilltop, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-9 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mira Mesa will challenge High Tech Mesa at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hilltop, they will face off against Sweetwater at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
