            Basketball Recap: Norfolk Panthers vs. Omaha Northwest Huskies        
        
		
        
        
            Norfolk was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  defeat. They fell  54-47 to the Omaha Northwest Huskies. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in February of 2022.
  Damien Jones and  Drew Streich certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss.  Jones  posted eight  points and seven  boards, while  Streich  put up 15  points and five  rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Ty Pinkelman, who  earned five  points.
  Michael Dubose was  his usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 20 points and 14  rebounds for Omaha Northwest. Those 20 points gave  Dubose a new career-high.
Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Omaha Northwest, their victory  ended  a  nine-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 2-8.
 Norfolk wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next  contest,  a  58-55  loss against South Sioux City on the 11th. As for Omaha Northwest, they and Burke will meet in a canine-themed contest  at 7:15  p.m.  on January 17th.
