Basketball Recap: Mount Tabor Spartans vs. Parkland Mustangs
Mount Tabor was the 64-36 winner over Parkland when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mount Tabor Spartans fell just short of the Parkland Mustangs by a score of 58-55 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Spartans have lost by exactly three points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Parkland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Asia Blackwell, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 boards. Blackwell is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jordan Fisher, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 15 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Mount Tabor dropped their record down to 4-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Parkland, they moved to 5-6 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.
Mount Tabor will head out to face off against West Forsyth at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Forsyth is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season. As for Parkland, they will be playing at home against Glenn at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Parkland also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 56.3 points per game.
