Soccer Game Preview: Mooseheart vs. Christian Liberty

The Mooseheart Red Ramblers will head out on the road to face off against the Christian Liberty Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mooseheart's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Mooseheart was handed a three-goal defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Schaumburg Christian 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Mooseheart were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Aaron George, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Christian Liberty was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They fell just short of Harvest-Westminster by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Christian Liberty can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 407th, while Harvest-Westminster are ranked 187th).

Christian Liberty's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Mooseheart, with the victory, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 4-7.

Mooseheart was able to grind out a solid win over Christian Liberty in their previous matchup back in September, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Ramblers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
