Baseball Recap: Sam Rayburn Triumphs

Sam Rayburn won the last time they faced Dodd City and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rebels walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Hornets. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rebels.

Sam Rayburn let Jamison Dorris and Reese Amlin run wild. Dorris got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double, while Amlin went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those two RBI gave Amlin a new career-high.

Sam Rayburn's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Dodd City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Sam Rayburn will venture away from home to take on Tioga at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rebels are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Dodd City, they are taking a road trip to challenge Tom Bean at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Tomcats' pitching crew has only allowed 1.7 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
