Baseball Game Preview: East Lincoln Mustangs vs. Cherryville Ironmen

The East Lincoln Mustangs will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Cherryville Ironmen at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cherryville took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on East Lincoln, who comes in off a win.

On Friday, everything went East Lincoln's way against Bandys as East Lincoln made off with an 11-4 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won eight in a row.

East Lincoln got a big performance out of Brandon Washington, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Matthew Phuntek was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, Cherryville came up short against South Point on Friday, falling 13-3. The Ironmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cherryville now has a losing record of 1-2. As for East Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

East Lincoln took their win against Cherryville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 15-0. Does East Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cherryville turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
