Softball Recap: North Lamar Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

While North Lamar's victory against Mt. Pleasant wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The North Lamar Panthers won by a run and slipped past the Mt. Pleasant Tigers 8-7. While the Panthers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

The win (which was North Lamar's third in a row) raised their record to 6-2-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Pleasant, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-1 record this season.

North Lamar has already played their next contest, a 5-1 defeat against Van on the 1st. As for Mt. Pleasant, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-1 victory against Tyler Legacy on the 1st.
