Baseball Game Preview: Lake Minneola Hawks vs. Christ School Greenies

The Lake Minneola Hawks will challenge the Christ School Greenies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lake Minneola has five straight victories, Christ School has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Lake Minneola's tournament run continued when they took on IMG Academy Gray on Monday. Lake Minneola blew past IMG Academy Gray 9-3. The Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.

Brady Montrowl tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.5 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Fabian Antosanti, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Brandon Rupsingh, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Christ School didn't have quite enough to beat East Ridge on Monday and fell 4-3.

Lake Minneola's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to hits: they averaged an imposing nine hits in those games compared to only 5.33 in the others. As for Christ School, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
