Softball Recap: Huntley Project Comes Up Short

Huntley Project extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-10. They lost 16-0 to the Shepherd Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in April.

As for Shepherd, their victory bumped their record up to 12-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won ten contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Shepherd's part, Krista Dunn made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Dunn has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

In other batting news, Shepherd got a massive performance out of Karli Goodell, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Charity Dunn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Shepherd beat Huntley Project by a score of 18-0 on Friday.
