Volleyball Recap: Animo De La Hoya Comes Up Short

Animo De La Hoya lost against South Gate back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Boxers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Boxers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Animo De La Hoya started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-13, 26-24, 25-15.

Animo De La Hoya's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for South Gate, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Animo De La Hoya will take on Rise Kohyang at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for South Gate, they will face off against Huntington Park at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Rams' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
