After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Murrieta Mesa, Jurupa Hills was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Colton Yellowjackets by a score of 8-1 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The Spartans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.
Alejandro Preciado was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Alfredo Hernandez looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
Back at the plate, Aaden Lopez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Matthew Toscano was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
