Terre Haute North Vigo had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They never let the Bloomington North Cougars get on the board and left with a 6-0 win on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won 12 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Kendall Gregg, who gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Bloomington North off the board. Gregg has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Nate Millington, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Terre Haute North Vigo, bringing their record up to 18-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Bloomington North, they moved to 15-11 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Terre Haute North Vigo will take on Franklin Community on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 2.3, the Grizzly Cubs 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Bloomington North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
