Softball Recap: Campbell-Savona Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Campbell-Savona strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came out on top against the Newark Reds by a score of 10-7.

Maggie Fodge was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Fodge was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Savannah Clark was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kali Maddock, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Campbell-Savona's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Newark, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Campbell-Savona will face off against Hammondsport at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers are facing the Lakers at the right time seeing as the Lakers are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Newark, they will square off against Midlakes at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Screaming Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Reds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
