Basketball Game Preview: George C. Marshall Statesmen vs. Herndon Hornets

The George C. Marshall Statesmen will face off against the Herndon Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Tuesday, George C. Marshall ended up a good deal behind Langley and lost 50-35. While losing is never fun, the Statesmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Saxons are ranked 15th).

Meanwhile, Herndon lost 71-45 to Yorktown on Thursday.

George C. Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Herndon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

George C. Marshall beat Herndon 35-26 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does George C. Marshall have another victory up their sleeve, or will Herndon turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
