Volleyball Recap: Kankakee Valley Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Kankakee Valley had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 3-0 to the Merrillville Pirates on Wednesday. The Kougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-14, 25-18.

The victory made it two in a row for Merrillville and bumps their season record up to 4-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Kankakee Valley is set to take on their familiar foe Boone Grove at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Merrillville will face off against rival Valparaiso at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
