The Tenino Beavers will square off against the Adna Pirates at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Tenino is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.9 runs per game this season.
14 must be Tenino's lucky number: they beat Hoquiam with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Beavers didn't even let the Grizzlies on the board, marking the Beavers' second-straight 14-0 shutout. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.
Jack Burkhardt was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Hunter Sweet was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Adna strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against Toledo. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pirates have posted since April 14th.
Adna also got a great performance from Cameron Nakano as he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk).
On the hitting side, Danner Hoinowski was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Beau Miller, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Adna's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-0. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.1 runs over those games. As for Tenino, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 16-5 record this season.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Tenino has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .471. However, it's not like Adna struggles in that department as they've averaged .547. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
