Baseball Recap: Commerce Comes Up Short

Commerce was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 25th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chelsea Dragons. One positive for the Tigers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Commerce's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Chelsea, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.

Coming up, Commerce will square off against Afton at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. This will be Commerce's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Chelsea, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Foyil at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Foyil has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.5 runs per game on average), something Chelsea will no doubt try to take advantage of.
