Baseball Recap: Judge Memorial Catholic Gets the Win

Judge Memorial Catholic hadn't done well against Summit Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Bears. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Jeter Soto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Judge Memorial Catholic is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-9 otherwise.

At the plate, Dominic Fassio was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. He is becoming a predictor of Judge Memorial Catholic's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-11 when he doesn't). Miles Augustine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 8-11. As for Summit Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-11.

Summit Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-3 defeat against Duchesne on the 17th. Hopefully Judge Memorial Catholic paid attention to the Bears' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bears at 3:30 p.m. on the 23rd.
