Softball Game Preview: Rushford-Peterson Trojans vs. Houston Hurricanes

The Rushford-Peterson Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Houston Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Rushford-Peterson lost 8-1 to Chatfield on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Gophers: they've now lost nine in a row.

Meanwhile, Houston was not the first on the board on Thursday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on Goodhue with a sharp 15-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Hurricanes, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Houston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Rushford-Peterson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Rushford-Peterson took their win against Houston in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 21-11 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
