Preview: East Beauregard Trojans vs. Oakdale Warriors
The East Beauregard Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Oakdale Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Even though East Beauregard has not done well against Basile recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. East Beauregard took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 44-13 win over Basile.
Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last matchup, Oakdale made sure to put some points up on the board against Rosepine on Friday. Oakdale blew past Rosepine 47-6 at home.
Deekota Johnson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 367 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 45 yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Derrick Green, who rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.
East Beauregard's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-4. As for Oakdale, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3.
East Beauregard might still be hurting after the 21-0 loss they got from Oakdale in their previous matchup back in October of 2018. Can East Beauregard avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
