Volleyball Recap: Ashley Evano and Rhyleigh Marshall Secure Win for Flowing Wells

After losing to Nogales the last time they met, Flowing Wells decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Caballeros walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Apaches on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Caballeros as it spelled an end to their three-match losing streak.

Flowing Wells was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-14, 11-25, 25-21.

Flowing Wells was led to victory by Rhyleigh Marshall and Ashley Evano. Marshall had four digs and three aces, while Evano had 14 kills, four digs, and three aces. What's more, Marshall posted four kills, the most she's had since back in September of 2024. Angelica Ante also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Flowing Wells was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 14 aces in three consecutive contests.

Flowing Wells' victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Nogales, their loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-15.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Flowing Wells will welcome Canyon del Oro at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nogales, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Buena at 6:00 p.m. on the 20th.
