Baseball Recap: Pleasant Hill Comes Up Short

Pleasant Hill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Benton Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-0 on Saturday.

Pleasant Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Benton, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-12.

Coming up, Pleasant Hill will challenge Webb City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Benton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cameron at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.7 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of.
