Basketball Game Preview: Lawson Lightning vs. White House Blue Devils

The Lawson Lightning are taking a road trip to face off against the White House Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lawson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.6 points per game this season.

Last Monday, Lawson humbled Maplewood with a 69-42 victory.

Lawson found their leader in sophomore Chandler Galloway, who went 10-for-17 en route to 24 points and seven boards. Galloway's big performance that evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Hudson Owens was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Lawson was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, White House's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Station Camp by a score of 54-51. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th in Tennessee, while the Bison are ranked 99th in Tennessee).

White House's loss dropped their record down to 12-17. As for Lawson, their victory bumped their record up to 18-12.

Lawson didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against White House when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was White House's Louis Taylor, who went 9-for-13 on his way to 27 points and three steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Lawson still be able to contain Taylor? There's only one way to find out.
