Basketball Game Preview: Patrick Henry Patriots vs. Atlee Raiders

The Patrick Henry Patriots will take on the Atlee Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Patrick Henry was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-53 to Hanover. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Hawks are ranked 108th).

Meanwhile, Atlee had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.2 points) and they went ahead and made it ten on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Mustangs 79-44. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 20 points or more this season.

Atlee pushed their record up to 19-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 25.9 points. As for Patrick Henry, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
