Ava Ahnert leads a balanced attack to beat Kokomo

Recap: Harrison Raiders vs. Kokomo Wildkats

The Harrison Raiders can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-34 victory over Kokomo. The victory was just what Harrison needed coming off of a 61-41 defeat in their prior matchup.

Harrison's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ava Ahnert, who scored eight points along with six assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Whitlock, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Kokomo lost, one person who can't be blamed is Aijia Elliott. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for her.

Harrison now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Kokomo, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 9-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harrison will square off against Merrillville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Merrillville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Saturday. As for Kokomo, they will head out on the road to face off against Triton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Triton Central will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
