Softball Recap: Tullahoma Has No Trouble Against Marion County

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Blackman, Tullahoma was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They blew past the Marion County Warriors 13-3. The victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won four in a row.

Amaya Sharp made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Sharp was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Madison Goad, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maggie Lynch, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Tullahoma hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marion County struck out seven times.

Tullahoma picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Marion County, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. As for Marion County, they will be playing at home against Moore County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
