Softball Game Preview: Seton Catholic Cougars vs. Columbia Bruins

For the second straight game, Seton Catholic will face off against Columbia. The Cougars will welcome the Bruins at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Seton Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last seven games.

Seton Catholic's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Columbia as they made off with a 14-0 win. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

Seton Catholic let Kingsley Williams and Ellie Travalia run wild. Williams went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double, while Travalia scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most RBI Williams has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kylie McMaster, who scored three runs while going 1-for-4.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Seton Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in seven consecutive contests.

Seton Catholic pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Columbia, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.
