L'Anse had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Ontonagon Gladiators 66-42. The Purple Hornets not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since January 10th (when they won 60-35).
Leading L'Anse to victory were Keegan Davidson and Sam Lee. Davidson went 8-for-16 en route to 18 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Lee almost dropped a double-double with 18 points and nine boards. Lee has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last three times he's played. Miles Vanalstine was another key player, putting up nine points.
Looking ahead, L'Anse will host Houghton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ontonagon, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Watersmeet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
