South Granville fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Carrboro on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 4-2. The Vikings' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

South Granville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vani Hernandez, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

South Granville's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Carrboro, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

South Granville will be playing in front of their home fans against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carrboro, they will take on J.F. Webb at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
