Baseball Game Preview: Pasquotank County Panthers vs. Holmes Aces

The Pasquotank County Panthers will take on the Holmes Aces in a tournament on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Pasquotank County fell victim to Martin County and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 10-0 to the Gators. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Holmes had taken Gates County down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Aces fell 8-5 to the Red Barons.

Myles Cobb was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed six innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits. Cobb was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBI.

In other batting news, Fisher Bobbitt made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and earned three runs and two stolen bases.

Holmes' defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Pasquotank County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
